A great Thanksgiving week!! Part 1

Not sure how many "parts" this post will take - it was a week full of photo ops that I could not resist. That is not to say that I'm a great photographer, but I wanted to remember these moments!!  Harry had not met Rhoda yet, so he was pretty excited to see Hannah and Robbie arrive on Monday afternoon.  (We'd taken the "redeye" and had a brief nap after Matt picked us up, so Monday was a "slow" day!!)

Grandpa has a way with the little babies - and he was delighted to meet the newest Terrill grandchild.

The charming Miss Rhoda is just as cute as she can be - as you can see!

Theo is a good big cousin!!

Ida, Lars, and Theo - it was impossible to get them all not to somehow "mug" when I was taking a picture!!

The kids enjoyed the photo shoots as much as anything!!  After every shot, "Show me, show me!"

"Hmm, wonder what all these folks are expecting me to do??"

The happy family!!

Diane, Robbie's mom, was there visiting too - the more the merrier!!

One of the best parts about family visits is sharing meals and visiting afterwards!!

Tuesday we went to Ida's preschool where she was the narrator for their Thanksgiving pageant!!  She was pretty excited about her role - because she is "the best reader" - and she is a good reader - just like her mom was!!

It's almost as much fun to watch all the proud parents and grandparents taking photos and videos as it is to watch the show!

There was homemade soup, corn bread, and apple pie afterwards.

Then we headed to DC to visit Hannah and fam - where Lars enjoyed another meal!!

Miss Ida is delighted with her new cousin!!

Grandma is delighted with her too!  Good thing I'm not offended by the yawn!!  (We actually encourage yawns!!)

The ever-crafty Hannah was enjoying all the extra hands so she could finish off a project.  Robbie was busy whipping up a nice lunch - and we had dinner too - it's been an adjustment to come home and be expected to come up with a meal!!

I can tell from the number of photos I have that this will be a 2 or 3 post project.  We enjoyed every minute of our stay - and look forward to the upcoming holidays when we will all be together!!

Stay tuned!!

The East Coast Thanksgiving Week

included lots of cooking time in the kitchen - with helpers too!!

It also included some woodworking tutorials from Dad,

and some "armchair quarterbacking from Matt!! (Who is no slouch in the home repair department, btw!!)

Eliza also mastered putting up a light fixture - after Dad wired the two rooms for overhead lights - an "in-demand" kind of service I'm finding.

We started out our trip with the celebration of Matt's birthday - always a good way to start anything!!

After my crazy day at school today, I'm ready to head back - give me household repairs, mending, ironing, laundry, crafting, playing with two great kids, visiting into the late hours, and Harry Potter movies any day!!
