A busy Spring!!

I tried to upload photos from Easter, and the computer seemed to object to the load I was asking of it, so I'm divvying up the work, so to speak!  Helen enjoys weekly visits from Dawn and Deacon - and she prides herself on being able to hoist him up to her lap by herself!!

Arcelia's mother and sister have been here for a month-long visit - she had not seen either of them in almost 20 years, so it's been a happy time.  We enjoyed having them over for dinner!!  Dessert included flan!

My new calling is Stake Young Women Camp Director - and we have regular meetings with the YCL's - a fun group of girls.  A capable group too - good thing, can't see myself doing spreadsheets and teaching certification!!  I'm focusing on being prepared for the hike!!

Enjoyed a Spring Break visit from Heather, Madi, and Drake.  They came early and brought Grandma to Church, then had dinner and a visit with her.  We enjoyed a brief visit with them too - we miss having the Cieslas around!!

Cub Pack meeting featured a very fun version of Hungry, Hungry Hippos - maybe you've seen YouTube videos of it - how can you go wrong with skateboards, balloons, and 8 to 10 year old boys??  I was busy supervising and everyone else was busy watching and laughing - so no pics of the activity.  It was lots of fun!!  Dawn's Den did a very great skit too!!  We have a happening pack!

I've done some subbing, visiting with Grandma Mary, walking, going to Curves, sewing aprons, and reading a lot of books - I will hit the 52 book mark in the summertime I think!!

A little catching up!

Dawn's brothers and nephew were in town for Thanksgiving - and we were in town for the first time in many years - it was a great day - great food, great company, great conversation - lots to be thankful for.  We did miss Marjorie - but we felt her with us!

With his 8th birthday under his belt, Harry W. is ready to be in Cub Scouts - he enjoyed his first official Pack Meeting - he's been coming to pack meetings for a couple of years now!

Nice to get a shot of the family all together tonight.

Great grand kids with Grandma Helen.

Harry W. with his dad - a special day for a special boy!!

Great grand kids with Grandma Mary.

Nice to have Noah and Taylor join us too.

It's been a very busy day/week/month/season!!  I am so behind with posting - will just try to stay afloat for the next little bit - if anyone looks at this and is interested in specific events and photos of same, let me know!

Greg, Kristine, and Bruce were in attendance. Lots of bike ride talk!

Bonny, Mary, and Ella enjoying some "girl talk" maybe??

It was nice to have Bobby with us too.  Dawn had some friends there also - should have snapped some photos of them too!

We are a big, busy family - guess that's what's so great about our lives - but it does make it hard to keep up sometimes.

I wonder how I ever had time to go to work!

Pinewood Derby Time once again!

I love Pinewood Derby time!!  Lots of happy little boys running around with their little wooden cars!  Here's Harry, channeling Charlie Graham - with Dave Hokanson - Mr. Pinewood Derby - in the finest Charlie Graham tradition!

A happy Porter - with his car - 2nd place in one of the events - and winner of "The Shiniest Car" certificate!

Harry - anxiously awaiting his turn at Cub Scouts - coming up in November - with Porter's car from last year.

The happy crew - love those little Cubbies!!

A Cubbing We Go!

It was Pack meeting week once more - and a wonderful time was had by all.  In fact, we are so busy having a wonderful time, we don't have time to take photos.  I need to designate someone as the photographer I guess!

We had an Easter theme - sang "Here Comes Peter Cottontail," did the Bunny Hop, decorated paper bags, had an Easter Egg hunt, had an Arrow of Light and Crossing Over ceremony, and gave out awards - that's Porter at the front of the line!!

I love Cub Scouts!

And next month is Pinewood Derby!!  Stay tuned!!

It's February - it must be Blue and Gold time!!

Harry and I continue to serve as Stake Cubmasters - and it's especially fun since Porter is a Cub Scout - and Harry W. will become one in November.  Harry the Dad pointed out that he was wearing blue and gold too!

Dinner, games, contests, dessert - always fun!!

I love those Cub Scouts!!

Summer - getting into the swing!!

I have a group of friends from my kindergarten through high school years - and periodically we get together.  And when we do, it is lots of fun!!  This last weekend we gathered at Carol's house, since Kathy was here from Florida.  We usually go to a restaurant, but when we got together in February, we decided that potluck at someone's house was much more fun!!  Sunday was no exception!!  I had also been planning for a very long while to make aprons for everyone - and this time I finally managed to do it!
Old friends are the best!

Cub Scout Pack Meeting this week - and it was our June Water Extravaganza!!  More accurately our June Water Balloon Extravaganza  - young boys + water balloons = a lot of fun!!

Isla got into the spirit of the event!!

We had a few planned events -  Water Balloon Dodge Ball, Water Balloon "Egg Toss" - but the biggest hit was just handing out the filled balloons and telling the boys to have at it!!

A wonderful time was had by all - next month - Raingutter Regatta - don't you wish you were a Cub Scout??

It's Pinewood Derby Time!!

Porter was pretty excited - and enjoyed the evening.

I love how the men all stand around enjoying it.  The women seem to sit and visit!!

Greg even came along!!

The coy Miss Isla!!

 Cheering on the boys.

Harry made a car too - and they let him participate - he just couldn't claim a prize - although they gave him a certificate - for name of his pack it said "Up and Coming!"

We had 19 boys participate - for our little stake, that is a big turnout.  A wonderful time was had by all!!

I love working in Cub Scouts!!

More Cub Fun!!

Had another great pack meeting last night.  Have I told you how much I love Cub Scouts?

I always think of how much fun Phoebe had in Cubs when I see Isla enjoying it too!

Porter is doing well at getting his awards!

Sister Rossiter is a great Den Leader too!

And we can always count on the Guerreros to come and support our activities.

We had an Easter Egg Hunt - they were decorating their bags here.  Prior to that we had another "hunt" but they had to find eggs that had words to the Cub Scout Promise and Law in them - and then had to assemble the words in the right order.  It was fun - and they did a good job.

The Cub Scout does indeed "give good will!!"

How about a "big hand" for the boys!!

Can I just say that I love working in Cub Scouts?  Over the years, I have heard women say things like, "I'm so lucky.  They've never nabbed me for Cub Scouts."  And I want to say, "Well, you don't know what you've missed out on!"

And now that Porter's in Cubs,  I love it even more.  The first time he came, he told someone sitting there, "It's so great.  My grandma works at Cub Scouts and I get to come."

Who could not want to hang out with little boys who love their grandmas??

What we've been up to!

In between episodes of Doc Martin and Downton Abbey - and other activities - not limited to but including a mandated state class for an autism certificate to be added to my credential - we've been a busy duo.

The charming Miss Isla often figures into our lives!! She sees me and says "tic tacs" but I know she doesn't just love me for that!

Fortunately for us, two of Bonny's Little Women have January/February birthdays, so we've had a couple of get togethers of late.

Harry must have taken some coaching from David, since he usually clowns when I suggest he pose for a photo - Dawn said, "I give up."

I think they were waiting for cake here!!

Dad and I have a new calling - Stake Cub Masters - it's tons of fun!! And we get to have wardrobe additions - I'm sure you didn't know you could get such lovely tee shirts at the Scout House - not expensive either, if you know how to "shop the sales!!" Tonight was Blue and Gold - fun and filling!!

Esme - leading the choir - or the chorus anyway - at her family b-day celebration.

The photo does not do justice to this lovely concoction - brownie/frozen ice cream - topped with whipped cream! I was going to pass on the cake - alas, my will-power was overcome - but I did eat a very small piece.

The lilies are out in fine form - so I was able to take a bouquet to Jonah's grave.

Also enjoyed representing the Terrill contingent at Katie's shower - Eliza will be here this weekend for the wedding - congrats to Katie!!

Annika and Ara enjoying the sisterhood.

Also enjoyed a brief visit with Frances when she was here - and enjoyed going out to GH for church with Mom and Donna - and a lovely lunch afterwards - I am not so good about remembering to take photos however.

We keep out of trouble around here.

And we still don't have a dishwasher - that story needs a whole post of its own - but I'm waiting until it is in and operating - don't want to jinx anything!!
