Wedding Announcements

I came across this photo quite by accident.  I knew of its existence and hunted for it a few times, but then gave up.  Recently I came across a box of magnetic pages from albums that I had intended to dismantle.  I am so good at starting projects.  I guess I need to work on finishing them now!!  As I browsed through them, I found the pages from when I'd started a book of photos from Christmas cards that we'd received over the years.  (See how good I am at starting projects!!)

And lo, and behold, there it was!!

It was a wedding announcement - Ry had written on the back that it had finally happened and he'd gotten married in Norway.

That's how we first "met" Sarah and Wade!!

Just a little historic trivia for you.

Happy Birthday Ry!!

Happy Birthday to our wonderful friend Ry Nebeker - shown here in a previously unpublished photograph.

The year was probably 1963 or 4, since I believe it was a pre-mission photo. The location was the infamous "Hole" where Harry and Ry and others lived in penury. But they were happy - and when they all talk about it, they make it sound positively desirable!

Here's Ry two years ago. In their lovely beachside home in Oregon. And I will tell you that it's a positively desirable setting.

Here's to a happy day and a great year ahead for a wonderful friend!!

How the years fly by!!

I was looking for another photo and came across this one from summer of 1990 - Ashland, Oregon.

That's a young Bruce - and a young Israel Nebeker - now of Blind Pilot.

It's great fun to camp with the Nebekers. Heck, it's great fun to do just about anything with the Nebekers!

(That was the year a very young Noah said, upon awakening in a tent, "Oh, there are leaves in the tent sky.")

The Nebekers a few years ago!

Bonny's post on Israel Nebeker reminded me of this photo I'd come across recently.

I think it's 1984!!
