For FHE - and to escape the fumes of varnish on the floors - Dad and I went and saw Hugo, the new Martin Scorsese film.

The critics are calling it a masterpiece - and I have to say that I agree with them. We saw it in 3D - and James Cameron was quoted as saying that it's the best 3D film he's ever seen!
It's the story of the French filmaker Georges Melies - and a young orphan who lives in the Montparnasse train station in Paris in the 1930's. The character George Melies is quite realistically portrayed - as for the young orphan boy, that is probably a figment of the author's imagination. (The film is based on a fictional story about a boy named Hugo Cabret.)
It is pure entertainment - wonderful characters, a beautifully drawn setting, great lines, action, suspense, humor - and the Eiffel Tower keeps popping up in the view shots - how can you go wrong with Paris as your backdrop??
See it and let me know what you think - I'm thinking you will agree with me!!
