Recital Day!

Attended Eve's piano recital.  She did a great job!

Then headed to Malibu and Pepperdine for Ella's dance recital.  Everyone was there!

Ella did a great job too - and was the prettiest of the bunch too!

Jinny was there too - it's always great to see her!!

We went to dinner after at Coogies - Bonny calls it Malibu Denny's - but it's way better than Denny's!  And we connected to Barry and Delores Kennedy!!  We old Valleyites have a way of finding each other!!  Barry's daughter and son-in-law are in Bonny's ward and their kids are all friends.  Delores and Warren Kennedy - who passed away last November - are old friends of my parents.

A nice Saturday - and a perfect 2nd day of summer vacation!!

"For ever, and ever, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!!"

The weekend began with a Grandma's Birthday Sleepover for Harry W. - who wanted lunch and dinner at McDonald's and breakfast at IHOP. Not exactly Weight Watcher's friendly, but he was happy - and that's what counts - I just ate "lite" - and at least the menus post the calories now!

Saturday a.m. we took time out for Eve's recital - she did a lovely job - no mistakes - she had worked hard to prepare.

Tonight at the Disney Concert Hall for the Messiah Sing Along - Eve and Esme had a fine time - as did the rest of us - it was a pleasure to look down at them and see how much fun they were having.

The "group" this year - lots of regulars - and some "back after an absence" folks too! I love the Messiah Sing Alongs - we've been doing them in one form or another for a lot of years - it wouldn't be Christmas without it! And it's fun to have the grandkids "growing into it" - hopefully they will always love the Messiah too - the Messiah and The Messiah!!

We also ran into several old friends - it must be the place to be in LA on Monday night!!

We are running out of space around here - the boys had to bunk in the laundry room - it was the only clear floor space - except for the echoing living room with no furniture or curtains - they voted for the laundry room - it was cozy!! (Pardon the lack of order here - I have taken over Harry's camera - and he has photos on it from years ago - so they are on the computer in some random places!!)

The living room is painted - including the trim - and the hall is painted too - progress - keep your fingers crossed - it could happen!
