Happy Birthday Mary!

I'm pretty sure Mary grimaces when I choose to post this photo. But you've gotta love the matching horn-rimmed frames. And the total 70's look!!

(Fashion icons before their time. Bill is all set for Matt and Eliza's Neil Diamond party!!)

Mary is a great sister - I love and appreciate her concern and loyalty and her total willingness to serve others!!

Have a great day - and a wonderful year ahead!!

I even remember her birth - at least I remember that Alice and I went to stay with Grandpa Clayton and Helen when Mary was born!

A Birthday Celebration for Mary!!

Mary celebrated her 60th birthday a week ago, so on Monday night, some of us hardy folk gathered to recognize it in fine style!!

Olive Garden was her venue of choice, and some of us stuffed ourselves on bread sticks and appetizers and had to take our dinners home in boxes!! (Mother and I had soup and wisely saved room for dessert!)

Mary graciously acknowledged Harry's upcoming birthday, so they gave him a candle too!

Bill joined us - looking a bit like Santa wouldn't you say??

Donna took this shot, so that's why there isn't a photo of her. (Mary thinks she looks unnaturally tall in the photo I took that included Donna! But I'm thinking Mother looks unnaturally far away in this one. I need to take a photo class!)

Happy year ahead to Mary - a wonderful sister and friend!

Happy Birthday Mary!!

Today is my sister Mary's 60th birthday - and I can remember when she was born - so what does that make me?? (Don't answer that!)

I probably tell the story every year - about how Alice and I stayed with Grandpa Clayton and his then wife Helen. There had been a burglary a few days earlier. I remember seeing the footprints in the dried mud.

Not a very intelligent thief, walking in mud and then breaking into a house!!

Maybe I've also told the story about how Mary came down from BYU - Idaho -it was Ricks College then - and stayed with us over conference weekend. She and I walked down to Temple Square - hoping to jump-start labor!! Didn't work - Bonny waited until everyone was gone to be born!!

Mary came back often though - she was our favorite babysitter!!

Mary is a great sister - very loving and patient - always has a kind word about everyone.

We are going to celebrate in style on Monday night - photos will follow!!

Happy Day to you Mary!!
