Happy 7th to the lovely Miss Isla!!

What is it about olives and kids?  Miss Isla obviously has the Terrill love of olives!!

Lots going on in Miss Isla's early years - as an almost two year old, baby Jonah came into her life.  She didn't understand what was going on - but she was a trooper and let others care for her and entertain her.

And now she does understand about Jonah - and loves him and wants to be with him in eternity.

Had another lovely Grandma's Birthday Weekend with Isla - she didn't want a manicure, said, "Oh we have lots of those bottles of polish at our house."  Wanted to play Slap Jack almost exclusively - and usually won!  Was fun to shop with - knew just what she wanted.  And chose to have lunch at Target - a hot dog and a blue Icee!

Have a great year ahead - heading for the big 8!!

Happy 3rd Birthday to the lovely Miss Isla!

The lovely Miss Isla is growing up before our very eyes!!  She loves us all.  And tells us that too.  And no one can find more to love in the tiniest little objects than our Isla.  Just watching her delve into her little, tiny imaginary world of play is so endearing.

In the words of our dear poet Yeats, I want to concur and say, "I sigh that kiss you, for I must own, that I shall miss you when you have grown!"

Happy Day to you - all year through!!

Happy Birthday to the lovely Miss Isla!!

Well, I appear to have lost my camera!! So even if I knew how to load my pictures on to Eliza's computer I wouldn't be able to!!

But I can still wish the lovely Miss Isla a very happy 2nd birthday!! We were here in Virginia two years ago at this time. We were staying at Hannah and Robbie's place in Arlington. And we were all in bed, but Harry kept sending text messages and the little "ding" would find us all jumping up to see how things were progressing!! It was pretty exciting.

The fun hasn't stopped either - Miss Isla still lends a lot of light and sparkle to wherever she is!! She is a delightful little girl - and we want her to have the best birthday ever - and a great year ahead too!

Happy Day to you!!

The Week That Was

I have spent the last week getting ready for Saturday's annual Women's Conference. I love these events - we get lots of positive feedback - but the week before I start to panic and think that I won't get everything done - or that something will go wrong.

I thought it would be great to make aprons for our keynote speaker and the presenters of the 4 classes. I need to quit having great ideas!! So I spent last week getting 5 aprons made - the last one this afternoon. Our theme is provident living - and I didn't go buy any fabric - just scrounged around - they all came out great. (One presenter's sister gave me the fabric for hers.)

We were given tickets to Camelot at the Pasadena Playhouse for Christmas - for tonight's performance. I was panicking tonight thinking I couldn't swing it - but Dad, the world's greatest helper, saved the day - and the night I guess!! We even had time to go over while they were setting up - and I set up the classrooms. The show was pretty good too. I have loved that music for years - my roommate Janet had the soundtrack and played it a lot my first two years of college - but I don't think I was very familiar with the actual story. It's really pretty sad - and tragic even. I have been reading the Arthurian legend with my 1st period class. And I have read Le Morte d'Arthur with the student I home teach - and Idylls of the King too. So I'm feeling like I'm "in the know" now!

Thursday night was a baby shower for Dawn and Isla at Nadinna's house. It was nice. Sylvia did the cakes.

And Mom and Donna came out too. Had dinner with us beforehand, so we got a chance to visit. Mary had to work, so she couldn't come.

The "generations" shot -we are even almost color co-ordinated!

Katherine and Christopher came too. Baby Harry looks a little non-plussed, doesn't he?

I'm off to bed - an early a.m. awaits - we'll let you know how it goes.

Sometimes a girl just gets tuckered out!!

Miss Isla, today's star player, did a great job.

But sometimes you just get tired and need a little rest.

I feel the same way. School starts tomorrow. Hannah and Robbie leave in the early a.m. So I will blog more later - probably Tuesday night!! (Since Matt and Eliza leave Tuesday a.m.)

It's been a wonderful holiday - we are truly blessed to have such a great family. Thanks to all our very delightful children for being what makes our family so terrific!
