Back to Back Birthdays!

Baby Harry made his appearance on the 28th of November - and his parents and family were living with us at the time while their house was being remodeled.

It was fun to have a baby in the house again!

And I was delighted to find a little outfit that his dad had worn - so we could do the photo thing - but alas, I did not have a photo of his dad in the outfit.

And then Isla was due - and her mom was hoping that the birthdays would not be on the same day.

It's tough enough to have all the birthdays in a 3 months time span - on the same day might be tough!

So Isla arrived on the day after - perfect timing!!

Love both these kiddos - and it's fun to have so much celebrating going on!!

Happy Birthday Donna!

Donna cringes when I post this photo - but I don't think anyone reads this blog anyway!

It captures the era, don't you think?

Happy day to a wonderful sister!

Happy 103rd to my dad!!

My dad was a good dad - not perfect, but perfect for me!
When Phoebe was born, he said, when told what we were naming her, "I'll call her Betty!" (Which he never did - in fact, you would have thought he'd named her!)

He was great with the babies - had a golden touch! Could calm a fussy, colicky baby in no time!

His mother died when he was 17 - and he never got over missing her. He was good to his two younger brothers, doing things for them he thought his mom would have done.

He was a machinist - had a machine shop - always just called "TheShop." He supported a family - gave us a pretty good life - and lots of opportunities.

Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad!

Haapy day to Rhoda!!

I have been privileged to spend stretches of time with Rhoda and it's been great! She is a delightful child - creative and eager to learn. She is also loving and compassionate - it is going to be a blessing to watch her grow and mature!!

She is across the ocean - enjoying a European life for a year - and we are all excited to see her and her family at the holidays.

Have a great year Rhoda!!

Happy day to Calvin!

Oh, I do remember this little guy - who is no longer so little - or so young - in fact, he's 15!

Have a great day - and a wonderful year ahead!!

Playing Catch up!

I am pretty behind! September 28th and 29th found us celebrating Taylor and Ella - among the lovlies in the Terrill family.

Bonny is ending a decade - and looking forward to a new one! Should be exciting. Here comes Bontober!

Deacon was so excited for his birthday - looks like he's always been excited about birthdays!

Once again we paused and remembered out sweet baby Jonah.

Phoebe and Porter - birthday buddies!  Sharing the spotlight with Calvin, whose birthday ends up the month of October for us.

Hopefully I will be a little more on the ball with November!

Happy Birthday Harry!

I think this is a middle school photo - Harry was always a happy kid - and seemed to enjoy school most of the time.

And he graduated - from college too - and got a master's degree also.

Lots of good memories of the Centerville years with Bonny and Harry!

Hope it's a happy day Harry - and a great year ahead!!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Eve and Helen - and Andrew and Dana and Wanda!

Lots of September birthdays - and lots on the same day.

The one thing I truly miss about living in Utah is the fact that when September got going, it did get colder. The leaves changed colors, the days were much shorter, and you could start wearing sweaters!

Happy 21st!

I post on FB and IG and then thought maybe someone doesn't read those and does read the blog?

Highly unlikely.

But Happy 21st Anniversary to Phoebe and David!

A happy day - hot, somewhat chaotic, a little disorganized - but happy nonetheless!

Happy day to Robbie!

Happy Birthday Robbie!  So glad Hannah found you - can't imagine the family without you!

Happy 11th!

Happy 11th Anniversary to Hannah and Robbie.  It was a lovely day from start to finish.

And the reception was the best party ever! As we reflected on it, Harry said, "We should just send out invites to all our friends and family and come over to the church and just eat and dance and sing!"

We only seem to do that for "occasions!"

But this was a great occasion - and glad we got to celebrate!

Happy Birthday Lars!

Lars is eight!! Excited to travel to VA for his baptism next month.

These grandkids of ours are just growing and growing!

Exciting years ahead!

"It's May, it's May, the lusty month of May. . ."

Oh, my, I am behind!! After Noah's birthday, we celebrate Dawn - and continue to be grateful that Harry found her and had the good sense to hang on to her!!

The 19th is my mama's birthday - our third year without her with us!  We miss her, of course, but treasure the many years we had with her.

I always recall Betsy's birthday - because she missed mine by a day! When I would tell Grandma Stevens that Alice missed being born on her birthday by just one day, she'd say, "Might as well be an inch as a mile. She still missed it!"

Roseann and I share a birthday - same day, same year! The original Birthday Buddy!

Frankie's birthday is today - he's 4! And talking about Birthday Buddies, little Lee Lawrence Terrill made his debut on Grandma Mary's birthday!

May continues to fill up with birthdays - at last count, there were 48 on my Birthday Calendar!!

Happy Birthday World!

Happy Birthday Noah!

How can it be 32 years since Noah was born??

He's a blessing to our family!

  And so is Taylor and

Keesa and Frank - and we are excited to welcome baby brother Lee Lawrence next week!!

Hope it's the best year ever Noah!!

The May Birthdays Begin!

Polly's birthday is today! She was born on Mother's Day - and I was there in Virginia - when I arrived, Eliza was sure that the baby would be late since I had already come.

But it all worked out just right!

Polly continues to be a joy to all -  what a smile, what a personality!

Happy 4th birthday sweet girl!

And then two years later, Ralph decided to come on the 10th also - I got there soon after he was born - and stayed 3 weeks - and had a wonderful time.

Ralph is becoming a most charming little guy - we love being with him!

Happy day to you young man!!

Note to the one or two readers of this blog:  I thought I had posted this to post yesterday the 10th - but apparently it did not - so it's late!!

April came and went - just like that!

April sure whizzed by - enjoyed General Conference!!

And Easter.

A photo of me - pregnant with Eliza -

and so we celebrated Eliza in April!

And now it's May - Happy May Day!!

Resolved:  Be better about blogging!

Beware the Ides of March!

We have had Ides of March parties for many years - but not recently.

A fave photo is this one I took of a message Eve left after one of our parties.  The first year Dawn came, she said, "Oh, I thought it would be much longer."  Apparently she had thought we were going to do the entire play!  I was impressed that she was still willing to come!

Party got bigger and bigger each year - and eventually it was just too much for me anyway - we haven't done one in several years.

The original Ides of March event was a birthday party for our dear friend Ronnie Horton. Now we just remember and recall.  And when I was teaching, I took the opportunity to explain it to my students - some of whom were more impressed than others.

Beware!!

More Birthdays!

I am indeed behind the 8 ball on the birthday acknowledgements - one in March - our own Keesa Rogue! So happy she was part of the package with Taylor!

Esme is a sweetheart indeed - love her spunk - and her voracious reading habits!! She is growing older - how can that be??

David - always a helper!! Shown here helping Aulvie Bourgeous at Harry's reception. A good man - so grateful Phoebe found him!

Ah, we miss Nebeker - such a great friend and artist!!
