Grandbaby number 20!! Welcome baby Francis!

We left for two days and baby Francis decided to make his appearance!!  These little guys just want to come when they want to come!!

His name is Francis Nicholas - and he weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz. and was 21 inches long.

The proud parents - a little tired too!

He's got LOTS of dark hair!!  And he's a big boy!!  We are excited to welcome grandbaby number 20 - 10 girls and 10 boys - the teams are even!!

It's been a great baby year for the Terrills!

Catching up - as usual!!

Got back this week after nearly three weeks in Virginia with Eliza, Matt, and family - and new baby Polly!!  It was a nice time - I always enjoy just being part of the daily life of our children and their families.  And it is work - but as Beverly at SMCNS always says, "it's work worth doing!!"

But I had not finished up my advanced blog posting before I left, so here's a happy 15th anniversary shout out to Harry and Dawn - who celebrated in style at the U2 concert!

And happy 14th birthday to Henry - grandchild number 3 and the first boy in the roster.  I won't even mention that I just can't stop wondering where all the time is going!!

We are heading to Menlo Park for Karl's wedding - will be fun to see all of Alice's kids - and Phoebe and Hannah and Rhoda too!!  (Bonny and Bruce and crew are coming up too.)

Maybe I will remember to take photos!!

So now I'm a septuagenarian!

 Who knew - 50 years ago -

that I'd be a middle school teacher 40 years later -

and 10 years after that, I'd be happily retired??

It's a rhetorical question indeed, but I do wonder where the years have gone - because I distinctly remember that 20th birthday celebration!!

Happy Day to Dawn!

We repeatedly say, "Dawn is the best thing that ever happened to Harry!!"

These two photos are from the early "dating days" of Harry and Dawn,

and I feel compelled to post them each year!!

Happy day to you Dawn - may the year ahead be the best ever!!

Happy Birthday Noah!!

Noah was a pretty good little baby - mostly mellow - but then, he got lots of attention!!

Even though both of our hair styles changed, the shirt didn't.

That's something Noah does - hang onto fave shirts!!

And we used to hang out at YW activities too!!

How can this little guy be 28??

Happy day to you Noah - may the year ahead be the best ever!!

Happy Mother's Day to a couple of great old gals!!

Gotta love the "shades" these great ladies are sporting in this photo!!

Harry and I have the distinct blessing and challenge of being with our moms as they age.  Helen is 99 and my mom is 95 - those are some long years!!

They are both wonderful women who have lead exemplary lives.  They struggle with all the vicissitudes of aging - pretty much with grace and good will.

We could learn much from them!

Boston Re-cap - somewhat disjointed however!!

The medal - now there are 10!

1st carel in wave 4 - 30,000 runners - 7,500 in each wave.

We went a week early - and enjoyed some true R and R - which was very therapeutic!!

So much water back east!!

Tributes to the victims of the bombing in 2013!

Click to see how Hopkinton - where the race starts - welcomes runners!

Why do I love smalltown post offices??  I just do!!

Tributes everywhere!!

We stayed at an air BnB - best decision ever!!  Our host was an artist who made these signs!!

Meeting up with Harry at Boston Commons after the race - on a day when it rained all day!!

After all these years of going - finally went to the Boston Public Library - next year, we will go there first - and spend the day!!

A great trip - all in all - even looking forward to next year already!!

It's always about the hair!!

7th grade - I could use some help - not sure about that front pin curl - maybe they were in style??

I've got some persistent waves in my hair - it still does the above!!  I think this was 9th grade - which was not high school for me.

Pixie cuts worked for several years for me - while I was young and thin - but then again, when you are young and thin, it pretty much doesn't matter what your hair looks like!

I think this is 6th grade - pretty ridiculous - not sure what I was thinking - or if I was thinking!!

This is 8th grade - those curls have a life of their own, don't they?

My hair stylist moved away a few years ago, but she came back monthly for many years.  Last December, however, she quit coming back monthly.  So I haven't had my hair cut for a while now.

Not sure what I am going to do.

Maybe grow it out?  Maybe not?

I should just lose 20 lbs. - or even 10 lbs. - and I suspect my hair would look better!!
