Belated Birthday Greetings to our own Calvin Hyer - now in the double digits!!

Oddly enough, the reason I didn't get a birthday post done for Calvin in time was that I was in Oregon with him for his birthday!!

It was a fun and memorable 10th birthday.  He had a championship football game - and his team won!  Then we went shopping at Dick's Sporting Goods - and had quite the experience. Calvin gives new meaning to the term "speed shopping!"  After that we went to Henry's game - by then the wind was howling and the temperature was dropping - and a couple of transformers blew!  No power for about 9 hours.

But Henry's team won too - and we took Calvin out to dinner - then came home and opened gifts by candlelight!

Calvin is a great kid - and we loved spending the week with him - and being able to help him celebrate his special day!!

An anniversary today

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of the passing of our sweet baby Jonah - the little boy who stayed only 11 days - but left us a lifetime of memories - and lessons to guide us always.

Late breaking news!

Got a text from Leslie asking me to announce on the blog that Tom was called today as the bishop of the Elmwood Ward in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Fredericksons really do have a lot going on in their lives these days - twin grandbabies, a mission call for Ellen, and now the adventure and blessing of serving as a bishop for Tom.  They will keep on keepin' on  I am sure, and we will look forward to hearing from them about all of their "adventures!"

Ida turns 6!!

I love hanging out with Miss Ida.  And I love getting letters and notes from her.  She is 6 today - how can that be?  She is definitely a ray of sunshine in all of our lives!!

Happy Day to Phoebe!

Bonny and Harry started lobbying for a new brother or sister - and we were on board with the idea - but it just wasn't happening.  Bonny even told people at church that I was pregnant with a new baby - I think she thought if she told people, I would make good on the suggestion!

So we had a special Family Home Evening and decided to fast and pray for a new baby in our home.  Bonny and Harry both participate - and not surprisingly, our prayers were answered!

Phoebe's name means "light" and her middle name, Elizabeth, means "gift of God."  She has lived up to her name in its entirety!

Phoebe is and always has been an essential member of our family.  We are so grateful for the wonderful gift from God of light and delight that she is in our family!

Everyone needs a Porter in their life!

Porter is birthday buddies with his Aunt Phoebe - and he's a bright light in our lives too!

A couple of years ago, Porter came to my classroom twice a week for some extra tutoring - I was so impressed with his hard work and diligence - he's a great little scholar - and works hard and carefully!!

I love hanging out with him - he's a great conversationalist - and is always up for a good time!  He's liberal with the compliments too - who can resist??

Remembering Baby Jonah - October 8, 2011 - October 19, 2011

Like his tiny footprint, sweet baby Jonah Adam left an indelible memory for each one of us.

 

When they told us he might not live but a moment, we were grateful for every moment he was with us.

 

He left a lifetime of memories in his brief 11 days.

 

We are all better people for having known him.

 

And we will always remember him with joy and gladness for his brief life we were allowed to share.  Like the doves that were released at his burial, we come back again and again to the message of hope and redemption in the Savior.

Thank you baby Jonah.

First Birthday for Deacon!!

The year has flown by - and lots has occurred - but mostly our sweet little Deacon is turning 1 today - and he's a happy "big" boy too!

Will post photos of his celebration - October is full of birthdays in the Terrill family!

Happy day to Bonny Brae!

You may love all your children equally - but you love them differently.  The child that makes you a mother for the first time just has a special little spot all to herself.    (It's the least you can do for all you put her through!!)

Bonny is a bright light in our family - she's a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, teacher, friend, student - name a category and she probably fills the bill!

Here's to a happy day full of all her favorites.  And here's to a wonderful year ahead too!
