"Here comes Peter Cottontail!!"

It's getting to be a tradition - Easter Sunday at Chez Bolander - with their sweeping landscapes for excellent egg hunts!

And this year, it was Bruce's birthday too!

The sibs who were there - if you were not, we missed you!!

Some eggs are hidden in plain sight!!

Grandma Mary, Aunt Donna, and Aunt Mary joined us.  Several friends and neighbors of the Bolanders were there too.  It was fun.  We had a good time.

Ham, funeral potatoes, fresh veggies, chocolate - you can't ask for much more!

Saying Good-bye to Marjorie!

The service for Marjorie today was really lovely.  There was a nice display in the foyer - Brooke and Dawn did their magic!!

This floral arrangement was from Maria - of course!!

The picture in the chapel is the same one as on the program - Mom, Donna, and I sent the lovely pink bouquet that sat next to it.

Dawn's nephew's wife did the programs - they were beautiful.

Dawn commented that she lucked out with Easter outfits already there for the kids to look their best!!

Dad was able to be there - he's got a crazy schedule, so it was  nice it worked out.

My mom, Donna, and Mary came too.

Noah with Deacon and Bonny with Annika!!

Porter surveying the wonderful food!  It was a soups and salads and rolls - a veritable feast.  Since the interment will be in Texas, it was nice to be able to invite everyone to stay!!

Bill came too.

Harry and Dawn and Bishop Ogilvie spoke - did a great job too.  That is Dawn's brother Joe behind Harry.

Sue Cornwall on the organ - always there with a smile.

Isla having a conversation with the bishop!

We will really miss Marjorie!!

Pinewood Derby Time once again!

I love Pinewood Derby time!!  Lots of happy little boys running around with their little wooden cars!  Here's Harry, channeling Charlie Graham - with Dave Hokanson - Mr. Pinewood Derby - in the finest Charlie Graham tradition!

A happy Porter - with his car - 2nd place in one of the events - and winner of "The Shiniest Car" certificate!

Harry - anxiously awaiting his turn at Cub Scouts - coming up in November - with Porter's car from last year.

The happy crew - love those little Cubbies!!

The big 5-0 looks good on Bruce!!

The family files are full of shots of Bruce in many roles - including kitchen duty,

Daddy duty,

family gathering duty,

spouse duty,

and primo family man!!

We think the best thing that ever happened was making Bruce a Terrill - at least a Terrill family member.  Happy day to you, Bruce - may the year ahead be the best ever!

A sad goodbye -

We were saddened today by the death of our beloved Marjorie - Nanny B to many - and Dawn's mother. She fell Friday a.m. and hit her head.  This lead to a bleed that could not be contained.  She was in a coma for the hours leading up to her death, so she did not suffer.  Her sons were able to make it here before she died, and that brings them peace.

There will be services here and in Texas.  I will post a notice here and on FB when I know.

The grandchildren are doing pretty well, but they are struggling with the idea that Nanny B is with Daddy B now, and not with them.

Marjorie was a beautiful woman, and I always enjoyed the time I spent with her.  We had some great times, and I will miss her.

Eve commented to me that "Nanny B never got mad.  Even when my dad teased her, she just smiled and laughed."

I hope something that special can be said about me when I'm gone!!

"You've had a birthday, shout hooray . . ." *

I have undoubtedly posted these photos before - maybe on Eliza's birthday too!  But they are representative of just who she is!  In this one, you can see the happy baby she was - and so welcomed!!  We hadn't had a baby for 6 years and were delighted to have her join our family!

This is a fave! It's Eliza, on Harry's birthday.  Kind of funny, because when he registered for FB, Harry listed his birthday as April 18th, one day before Eliza's.  Not sure why, but it creates some confusion each year.

This is the adolescent Eliza - a pretty girl always!

And the elementary graduation Eliza - the healthy California glow certainly apparent!! She may live on the East coast, but she has always looked like the California girl she is!

Eliza - the leader of the little kids!

Another fave shot - does the guy taking photos and leading a little donkey - maybe it was a pony - still come around?  I haven't seen him in many, many years.  But then, I'm not home during the day anymore either!

The beautiful bride, the loving aunt!!

And finally, the mom and wife - still doing her usual great job!!

We love you Eliza - and wish you a happy day and the best year ever!!

*a tribute to her skill as a Primary music leader!!

An Easter "Post-View!!"

Hannah and Eliza never complained about matching dresses - but they had plenty of them.

As you can see!

Apparently not every year though!!

A fun Easter when the Kerksieks were here!!  (Or rather at Bonny's!)

An Easter egg hunt in the back yard.

At church - with Andrew!!

One year we went to SLC for Easter.

Matching dresses with contrasting colors!!  Alice and I had lots of matching Easter dresses that my Grandma Stevens bought us - but they were always different colors!!

And Easter Egg Hunt at Bill and Debbie's house.

Miss Ara's  first Easter - and such a lovely bonnet!!

Easter in Centerville - a very sunny Centerville apparently!!

 Easter at BYU - 1964!!

Easter in Granada Hills!!  I really used to wear hats a lot!!

This was after 1992 - Bonny was married and Harry was on his mission!

Not sure about Easter this year - lots is up in the air.

But I do have a dress!
