Holiday fun and games continues!

Went out to my mom's for dinner with Charlie and Jeanette, who were visiting here from Utah.

Don't you love the festive table decor? Went well with the yummy enchiladas Jeanette made.

It's always great to be with as many of my sibs as we can gather together.

Friday I went out to Thousand Oaks for a fun get-together with my old high school - and elementary and junior high - buddies - we know how to have a good time.

Came home to find the Dequers were paying a visit - great to see them!!

Also went to Lauren Gutierrez's wedding reception - the gang starts arriving tomorrow - let the fun continue!!

How can it have been a decade already??

The happy couple!!  A very happy day it was indeed - and we've only grown to love Matt more and more with each passing year!

Maybe one of my fave wedding shots - Ara dancing with Eliza!!

Two happy families joined together!!

This fairy tale doesn't end - it just grows and improves with the years.

Congrats to both of you - and Happy Anniversary!!

Merry Christmas one and all!

Noah said he liked the scarf I made him.  Dad loves the peacoat I gave him.  And was impressed with the hanger and garment bag it came it.  Thanks for the assistance Robbie and Bonny!!  (My go-to shoppers and experts in fashion and great deals!)

I am loving the cozy slippers Dad gave me - and hoping it gets cold enough to need them!!

Isla is loving her new "oneafeets" - you should have seen the pair these replaced - she is a die-hard when it comes to her pajamas!  (called "one a feets" - the term may catch on if we all use it!!)

Deacon seems to enjoy hanging with Uncle Noah!

Eve loves her new "hair donut" and the way it makes her hair look thicker - in her words!

Everyone - the elders, Brother Armstrong, Rusty, Grandma Helen, and the rest of us - loved the great meal that Dawn and Marjorie put together for all of us!

Porter loves his new globe.  And loves explaining it to others.

Harry W. loves his new book.

Everyone loves a festive meal - I think everyone went away happy!

Hope your holiday was happy too!

Christmas Eve On Primrose Avenue!

Harry called it right when he said this was the best shot all evening!!  It's great when you've got a natural for Mary and Baby Jesus!!  It added to the evening, that's for sure!

Potato Soup - with all the toppings!  And few leftovers!

Eve and Isla in their matching p.j's.

Santa's Secret Shop is sporting a new line of headwear this year!!

Great to have Grandma Helen with us.  Mom and Donna did Christmas Eve at home, since Charlie and Jeanette are here in town.  We will see them Thursday.

Something was making everyone smile.

Harry W. really got into his Wise Man role - showing his wares!!  (Porter was Joseph, Eve was the angel, and Isla was the shepherd - they seemed to enjoy their costumes - kept them on until the new pajamas got opened.)

Noah continues to bond with Mr. Deacon!!

The evening was great - it's midnight, so time for Harry and I to call it a night.  Certainly don't have as many chores as in years past - can't say I mind though!!

Happy Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!!

46 years and still going strong!

I pretty much post the same photos every year because there was not a professional photographer at our wedding reception. And there wasn't one outside the temple either.  And it hasn't negatively impacted our life together either.

I'm not saying it's not nice to have lovely photos to remember everything wonderful - especially at a lovely occasion like a wedding. But it's not a requirement!!

We are living proof of that!

Happy 46 years together to both of us!!

Thank you very much!

A birthday celebration!

I had a staff holiday party I felt obligated to attend, so Dad and Noah fixed dinner for themselves and Grandma.
They did a good job - now I know their secret talents - and can put them to work!

Harry, Dawn, and crew joined us for cake - pineapple upside down of course - and ice cream.  And baby Deacon charmed Grandma Helen!

Always helpers for candle-blowing duties!!

A little vocal assistance was provided too!

Uncle Noah - eliciting a smile too!

One more event checked off in the week that comes each year - that includes a birthday, an anniversary, and Christmas - one week!!

Good thing it only comes once a year!!

Happy day to you Harry!!

(and thanks to all who sent FB messages, made phone calls,  did facetime messages too!!  Dad felt loved!!)

The many faces of "Harry-Dad!!"

Harry was indeed a cute little guy.  I've always known that.

And over the years, he's gotten cuter and cuter.

He's always been a man of style and flair!

And once upon a time he had tons of wavy brown hair!!

He's had a collection of beards too.

There's less hair now - and it's snowy white.

But he's trim!!

Happy day to you - and all year through!

"O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree . . ."

Traditionally, the Terrills on Primrose don't get their tree up until almost Christmas - and then they leave it up past New Year's.  But this year, we got it up on the 14th!!  Harry wrapped it in lights, and it looked lovely that way - we left it undecorated for a few days, but succumbed tonight and trimmed it with the crazy collection of ornaments that mean Christmas is here - complete with the toilet paper roll angel on the top,  the Norwegian Wedding Spoons,  Yulenessers, golden walnuts, and Noah's Primary contributions.

I guess I'd better get to work on the gifts that should go under it now!!

Hopefully the 80 degree weather will abate - I think it's drying for the tree!!

Happy 23rd Anniversary!!

Today is Bonny and Bruce's 23rd wedding anniversary.  In 1990, when they got married, Harry and I had been married for 23 years!  In fact, they had their wedding reception on our 23rd wedding anniversary!

So how's that for syzygy??

Here's wishing a very happy anniversary to a couple of very special people!!

Sing along 2013

-
Not sure how the resolution will be from my phone. So my apologies in advance.

Love love love that harpsichord. Wouldn't it be lovely in my living room?

Also loved seeing everyone. So thankful mom and dad stuck with this tradition.

Hallelujah!!

The Terrills are off for another grand night of singing along with the LA Master Chorale!!  Harry and I have attended The Messiah every year for 45 years now!!  It hasn't always been Sing Alongs - that started in 1979.  And some years we have a dinner beforehand, and some years we don't.  Some years we have more friends that family, and some years we have more family than friends.

But it's always a moving, uplifting experience.

And a great way to start the season!!

I remember the first year Bruce went.  I asked him if he was familiar with it, and he said no, but that he was willing to become so.

And he certainly has.

"The glory, the glory of the Lord, is reveal-ed!!"

Listen closely - maybe the sound will waft across the continent to all of you!!

The week after one vacation - but looking forward to the upcoming holiday vacation!!

We came home to Pack Meeting on Tuesday night.  Love these boys - they are the best!

Friday night was time for Harry W's Grandma's Birthday Sleepover - he chose a toy called a "Bey Blade" (not sure of the spelling) and he couldn't have been happier with it.  We all got a chance to face off with him - even our home teacher when he came Friday night!!  Noah was leaving when Harry got here so he told him to wake him up for breakfast for sure the next morning.  Harry rushed into the room with the sleeping Noah and announced - for all the neighborhood to hear I think - that breakfast was ready and "it's a feast!"  (Love how waffles and bacon constitute a feast!)

Grandpa was gone most of Friday night doing plumber duties at Grandma Helen's, but he got home in time for a Grandpa Bob story!

Saturday was errands and piano lessons and picking up Eve and then lunch at McDonalds!!  Then it was time for me to get set up to celebrate Mary's birthday - which is Monday - so I fixed a meal and bought a cake!!  And we all had a fine time eating and socializing.

Mom, Donna, Marjorie, and Harry joined us, and after dinner we all headed to the Louise K. Taylor Performing Arts Center - aka MHS auditorium, newly renovated and remodeled - for a Christmas treat.

Can I just say here that the production was excellent - as good as anything I've seen at the Pantages!!  It's a new venture in Monrovia where an artistic director - in this case Patrick Garcia - puts together productions with mostly professionals but some locals also - and the results are impressive.  We were thoroughly entertained - it was great to sit by my mom and watch her smiling her way through the show!  Hopefully there will be more productions in the future for us to attend!

Getting geared up for the holiday!!
