Last One...Really

Okay, last one.

Let's hide up here by these big doors and maybe they'll stop taking pictures of us.

Clayton magic.

Sweet My Coz.

The day after the wedding, some people came to my house. I let them in; we ate food, provided lovingly by Mom; then we took pictures.

I sat on Grandma's lap while Mom did the dishes.

That's it! Happy Halloween, all!

Nice Day for a White Wedding Part II

Doesn't Matt look festive? (Happy Halloween!)

Party all the time (party all the time, party all the ti-ime).

Barb'n'Al.

Remember when Noah was just a little guy?

Ah, cousinly bonding.

A raspberry-sauce message of love, from Hannah to you.

Shower again: Erika and Heidi getting into the conversation.

I still have more to post, but my computer at home is still being weird, so I'll try again later.

Nice Day for a White Wedding

I have become, shall we say, a little bit of a camera addict. But Hester got married on Friday, and we missed you Californians who were not there, so I thought I'd post some pics. (I just realized they're a little Terrill-centric. Ah well...) Mom has a lot too, maybe she'll post hers as well. I really don't think you can have too many pictures at weddings.

Maddy and Hester at H's shower. The real beauty of this pic is actually between their heads. If you zoom in, you'll get a treat.

The Hanners.

I call it "Shoes with Packaged Skillet and Muffin Tins."

The happy couple. Pretty bouquet, huh! And, of course, pretty Hester.

Dad and Noah. I didn't get any good pictures of Hester's bridesmaids (Hannah and Madeleine) but over on the right is Maddy, so those of you who are interested can get an idea of their outfits, at least from the back. Cute.

"The little kids" + Dad's profile.

More to come--my I-net connection is being fussy.

Representin'

Hey, family. Eliza here.

We had a little bit of a turn-of-the-century-era Arcadia stake reunion the other night. I was just going to e-mail these to Mom, but then I thought some others of you might like to see them. If not...well, may you have peace in your soul.

The group:

Some G's:

Some C's:

Some girls:

Some lounging:

Some staring:

Tell me, who parties better than we do?

You couldn't think of anybody, could you?

And, that's about it. Hope you enjoyed the photographic journey. Feel free to go ahead and capture that last image in your mind, forever. Don't be afraid.

you say it's your birthday

And, chances are, it's someone in our family's birthday too.

Which it is.

Calvin is one! Happy Birthday, Calvin. But you look like you're five already. Big boy. I have your birthday party invitation on my fridge. Sorry I can't be there, but I still think you're cute. And my roommate Katie has a crush on your picture. Unfortunately for you, she's engaged.

But she has a niece that's about your age.

Memory Lane

You'll never believe what I saw when I was driving to Woodland to take Henry to pre-school today.
I'll give you a few hints.

1. Mom and Dad were very excited when they bought it.
2. Our neighbors had a few just like it.
3. it was used for Chirstmas storage

Any guesses?

More Than Enough

So, blogging among people I know is rapidly growing. It’s the stone cut out of the mountain without hands, practically. I’m so happy that Bonny and Phoebe now have blogs too! Just within my own immediate family I now have 5 blogs to read.

Matt pointed out that now we all post stuff on our own blogs, which doesn’t end up on this one. And he doesn’t have the compulsion that I do to read everybody’s.

I told him, though, that the Terrill girls have more than enough to say about everything. There’s plenty of blog material to go around.

Speaking of which—here’s the point of this post, for the less compulsive among us—I started posting pics of our trip on my own blog. I only have a few up so far, so maybe I shouldn’t be announcing this yet! But trust me, there’s much more to come. I have all of the pics from our camera, plus Phil gave us a DVD with FOUR HUNDRED pics on it! Yikes! I won’t post all of them, haha. But there will be plenty to see. And one thing I like just as much as lots of blogging is lots of pictures.

I'm Blue

Actually Esme' is. Actually her nostrils are - the inside. She put a marker up her nose. When I asked her why she said "because I like it".

Go figure....

The Fillmores say goodbye till Thanksgiving

Remembered to get a group shot before the group left - I often don't! Phoebe had a kind of MHS quasi-reunion spanning 10, 12 years. It was fun for her to see all her friends - Chad, Stephanie Hanke, Lance and Wendy, Robyn, Jenny D., among others.

One of the perks of aging is enjoying reunions!! (Going from High School to reunion time means you are "aging" - I'm not the only one who ages!!

Visiting with the Fillmores

We enjoyed a visit from Phoebe, David, Henry and Calvin this weekend. Here's Phoebe introducing Calvin to Porter at his Birthday Bash!!

the windy city

i will post more on my new blog later.

The End of An Era

Just wanted to say that we had a great Enrichment meeting tonight. Started with a chicken tortilla soup - yum, yum! And a great turnout - over 40 sisters!

And 3 less actives came - one even walked there!! Also some other sisters we hadn't seen in awhile.

And Patriarch McEwan gave a great talk - focusing on the individual worth of women - and how our patriarchal blessing can help us know that. Also told a great story about Jesse Evans Smith and how she came to be Pres. Smith's 3rd wife! And how he was called to be a patriarch. (Patriarch McEwan, not Pres. Smith!!)

We were temporally and spiritually and emotionally fed - it doesn't get much better than that!!

Word of the Day

This morning Henry asked why syrup is called syrUP, and he emphasized the UP. I told him that I did not know. Then he said to me, "Oh, I know, it's because it has sir in front of it!"
Does anyone else follow that logic?

London Calling

I'm showing Phil & Lynnette how to post pictures to a blog.

You'll get more pictures when we get home!

(This is us in London.)

Happy belated B-day to all the October people!

my basement flooded

Is it too late to pack up and move home? After several days of asking our landlord to come fix our bubbling shower, he came at 9 pm last night and pretty much ruined the house. After he flooded the basement with sewage (without telling me, and I was sitting upstairs!), it came to my attention that he has admitted before that he doesn't know anything about plumbing. I heard him call his wife and say in a quiet voice, "Ah, Suzanne? I'm gonna need the wet-vac... uh, I just flooded the basement." So I was up until 2:30 am helping my roommate take her stuff out of her room and upstairs to the living room. People were over vacuuming till at least 3 am, and I woke up several times because of the horrible smell. I'm running on like 5 minutes of sleep.

Needless to say, I feel like I live in a third-world country. Our house smells like a bathroom at Huntington Beach. Poor Katie went to her dad's office in tears this morning because we had to shower in some girls' apartment on 9th East.

All this, and it's only 8:40 am!

Birthdays!

Many happy returns to dear sister Phoebe, who is 28 today... I think. Yes. That's exciting! I hope that you do something fun and exciting for this seminal year... more bottling and canning, I suppose. Ha.

Um... again, don't remember when you were born, but I do remember thinking that it was odd that your baby pictures were always reddish-looking... so 1970s. I was also like five years old, so what did I know? Anyway, I hope that you have a good day that doesn't involve a child getting sick... or something...

Another birthday of imPORT... haha... I crack myself up. Porter! I can't believe he's one! I also can't believe that I've seen him only a handful of times since he's been born, haha.

This picture is so outdated, too. I saw him for the first time in months when Harry and the Dawn came to Utah, and I was blown away. He was big and friendly and very blond... reminds me of a big teddy bear. He and Calvin make good koalas.

Anyway, don't really remember when he was born either... but I do remember when Dawn told me that she was pregnant... it was the same time that Phoebe told me that she was pregnant, and I was so shocked. Remember when people just kept having babies last year? I wonder when that's going to happen again... :)

Anyway, I hope that everyone has a great day. I'm sorry that I can't be around for everyones' happy day!

Sunday, Sunday!!

As many of you know, Harry is the ward mission leader. The sister missionaries dropped by and Sister Fau, who has been in the mission field for about a month now, said, "This has been the best Sunday." And I thought, yes, it has.

It was Stake Conference today. The scheduled visitor was Larry Lawrence of the Seventy. Last night and this morning, he told some pretty compelling stories from his stint as the mission president in Siberia!! His wife gave a great talk too.'

Last week, however, the word came that President Monson was going to be in town - and wanted to attend a stake conference - and this weekend there were only 3 stake conferences in Southtern California - and we were the lucky ones!

We got there 2 hours early - and even then there was only one slot of seats left in the chapel. Turned out the kids on the row with me were Karl's friends from Claremont - he'd alerted them.

A non-member and his inactive wife, whom Harry home teaches, accepted his invitation and came - and had a great experience. A less-active sister I visit came with her husband and had a great experience. All the recent converts came and got to shake hands with President Monson and were pleased and happy they'd come.

And of course, President Monson spoke for an hour and it was vintage Monson - and we were all happy and pleased to be there. A great spirit was there too. (Parenthetically, let me note that he and Sister Monson were married in 1948 by Benjamin Bowring. In 1967, Harry and I were married by Benjamin Bowring. Turns out he gave them the same advice he gave us!!)

(Also parenthetically, Sister Fau got to shake Pres. Monson's hand and he gave her a hug - she was pretty excited! She is Samoan and hugs are even more vital to her than most!)

I can see why Sister Fau said she was having a great Sunday - I'm having a great Sunday too!

This was a Nebeker print I'd never seen - but I like it! What follows are photos from our recent trip to Portland, Oregon for Wade Nebeker's wedding - they are not in a particular order - hopefully I've covered some of the high points - I kept forgetting to take pictures! And I noticed that I didn't post of pix of Wade and his bride - I will have to rememdy that on my next posting!

Dad and I can see why people go to Oregon and stay - it was beautiful -we saw sunshine, rain, snow - and the flowers were splendid!!

I did pause at the signs in Gearhart that said "Tsunami evacuation route" however!!

Dad and Nebeker lounging in front of the fire.

It was snowing and the fire was toasty - it doesn't get much better than this!!

Here are Napoleon Dynamite's folks! We stayed with them in Salem - they have a great spread - 4 acres and their own Boy Scout camp on their property! ( I suppose not everyone would appreciate that!)

The Nebeker wall at Brenda's house

There were lots of Nebeker prints on the walls of Brenda's house. Many I'd never seen before - and some so old they were signed "Gay Nebeker!"

The happy mother and father of the groom. It was a great party, I will say that.

Hannah Nebeker with Dylan Nebeker

Hannah with Wade's son Dylan - a precocious little ten year old who was one of the ring bearers.

Israel and companion (didn't get her name!)

Israel did the honors as best man. He's living in Portland and working as a waiter while he pursues his musical career as a composer and performer. He gave the toast, but they didn't have him sing.

Father of the Groom - and others!!

Here is Dad with Rye, his brothers Burke (with the goatee) and Brad (without the goatee but he sure looks like Nebeker, doesn't he?)and Jim Heder. What a great group to hang out with at the reception.

Dad and I enjoyed the wedding in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Our good friend and Dad's old college roommate Jim Heder gave us a great tour of the Oregon coast during the day. (He's Napoleon Dynamite's dad - but he has other claims to fame - among them a 4 acre backyard with his own private Scout camp!)
