I have been remiss in my blogging. I have been inundated with January I think. It comes way too quickly after December and the holidays, don't you agree?? Not to mention the plethora of January birthdays that dominate my birthday calendar!! It's a good thing we love everyone on said calendar!!
But the Bolander Beauties came for their annual Anniversary Visit - the one where their parents go celebrate their anniversary that is - and they remain with us!! After a Friday night repast of spaghetti and warm, fresh French bread from Pavilions, we went to the Centre Stage production of Little Women - our own Sarah Cornwall starred as Marmee. It was a great production, Sarah did a great job, and as Little Women afficionados, we were delighted to be there.
Saturday was fun - we went to Michael's for some project supplies for Ella and scored in the Grandma's Treasure Box department - as in the dollar bins were marked down to 20 cents!! Yep, 20 measly centavos. We are set for awhile!! Then we did Wendy's for lunch, visited the wonderful Monrovia Library - and spent a whopping $4.75 at the Friends of the Monrovia Library Bookstore while hauling out treasures!!
The new playground is pretty nice!!
Eve joined us for some Saturday afternoon fun - she was sick on Friday so we were glad she got well!! Saturday night the girls were at Ogilvie's while we went to Stake Conference - they all enjoyed that.
Sunday a.m. we headed out for the same broadcast all the rest of you Southern Californians enjoyed. I was distracted a bit - we had 7 of 8 grandkids there on two rows at the back of the Stake Center. But they behaved quite well, and the talks were right on the mark - just what we needed to hear!!
Later that day, some sisterly computer time - both Ara and Ella had homework - which they have dutifully picked away at.
Ara also worked on her Young Women Value Project - and burned her fingers with the iron. Nurse Dawn provided some wonderful "instacare!!"
Sunday dinner was also fun - I practiced on the group - making the soup we are serving at the Women's Conference in 2 weeks - yikes, can it be coming up that fast?? Anyway, the jury came in with a thumbs up! Can't ask for more than that. Except maybe to see Baby Harry in his favorite costume - maybe you had to be there, but he's pretty hilarious, especially when he gives up on keeping the legs up and just crawls around!!
Count on Little Harry to clue everyone in on a great YouTube video - the group gave that a thumbs up too! Our laundry/sewing/computer room seems to be the "local hangout!"
Ella loves holding Miss Isla - who is growing by the minute it seems!!
Grandpa and the girls wrapped up the evening with a movie - Escape to Witch Mountain - the remake I think. Grandpa built a fire too - and they roasted marshmellows. Perfect for the rain that has started to fall. (There are supposed to be back-to-back storms this week - 4 of them. Hope we don't float away!!)
Noah, little Harry, Greg and I were there - even if we are not in the photos!!
