The Big 4-0 for Davy boy!!

 Don't seem to have many current photos of David - he is famous for ducking out of sight when I have my camera with me.

But we sure do have lots of great memories with David in them!!  He is an all-around great guy - full of fun and willing to dress in costume!!  (That tells you a lot!)

 

He loves to cook and build and play games and tease and keep the party going!!  And he's a great son, brother, husband, and father.

And a great son-in-law too!!

Happy day to you - and all year through - may the year ahead be the best ever!

Happy 16th Anniversary!!

A beautiful August day in 1998 - it had been pretty hot - but it cooled down and all was beautiful!!  (although Dad had taken out the floor in the kitchen so all the kitchen stuff was in the living room, other than that, everything was fine!)

At any rate, 16 years later, they are still going strong - the family is bigger, we are all 16 years older - and we want to wish them a happy day - with many more to come!!

And as we speak, we are heading to Utah, and Jesse's wedding - Erika got married on this date too - must be a "marryin' kind of day!!"

Phoebe always has been a trendsetter!

Saturday is a special day!

Especially when Phoebe, David, and family show up for dinnner!!

 

Keena and Diane joined us for breakfast, lunch, mani/pedis, and lots of playtime with Rhoda.

 

The charming center of our attention!!

The first week of summer vacation is off to a fine start - it's so great to see family and to not have any greater concern than what shall we have for dinner tonight??  (Burritos tonight!!)

Happy 15th Anniversary to Phoebe and David!!

Seemed like the days leading up the Phoebe and David's wedding were hectic and hot - we had a heat wave, Harry was "remodeling" the kitchen - as in putting in a new floor!!  And Girls' Camp was 2 days after the reception!

But the wedding day dawned clear, beautiful, and a few degrees cooler!!  The reception was lovely - in spite of running out of punch, cake, and some food.  There was watermelon left over - and chips!

And camp went off without a hitch.  And when I got home from camp, the floor was still not in.  Obviously it got in eventually, but we all survived.

Happy Anniversary to the lovebirds!!  We are so glad David joined our family!!

So, where do the years go??  For Phoebe and David they've gone from Provo to Concord to Davis to Portland!!  And along the way, they've picked up Henry and Calvin and Agnes and Sullivan!!

And we are all very happy about that - just like we were happy that August 14th in 1998!

Is he growing horns??

As everyone knows, I've been busy sorting photos for my scanning project.  One of the reasons it's such a big job is because you keep coming across photos that you have to stop and laugh at, or sigh over, or just smile.

This is from 1998 - just after Phoebe and David got engaged.  We took lots of photos in the living room - not noticing that the dried plants in a vase on the mantle often ended up looking like they were growing out of someone's head!!

And it looks like Phoebe's scolding David for having strange things growing out of his head!!

Okay, back to the sorting!!

David has a way of not letting me take pictures of him. He either moves suddenly, turns his back, or makes some crazy face.







At least I know now it's not just me - he does the same thing for Kelly!! (Or maybe it's just the confluence of the wind, his glasses, and the way he wears his hair!!)

In spite of his refusal to pose for anything but group or family photos, we love David - and we are certainly glad that Phoebe and David had the good sense to choose each other!!

Happy Anniversary You Two!!

When Phoebe and David got engaged, it was a different sort of experience for Dad and me. For starters, we didn't really know David! We trusted Phoebe's good judgment though, and of course it all turned out that she had made an excellent choice!!

Though they haven't lived close by, we have had many opportunities to visit and get to know David better. This last 2 1/2 week stint was especially gratifying, since I'm feeling like David and I are great friends too, as well as in-laws!!

So here's to many more happy years together - as well as many happy visits from us!!

We have a gender!!

Baby Boy Fillmore was born today at 12:54 p.m. 8 lbs. 8 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are doing well. David said he has lots of hair and is a chubby sort of guy!!

We will go visit this p.m. and take photos.
